For almost 130 years Hurtigruten has pushed boundaries on expedition travel and sailed tourists, locals and cargo around the Norwegian coastline and polar regions.

Formed of three main business units – Hurtigruten Expeditions, Hurtigruten Coastal Express and Hurtigruten Svalbard – we offer unique small-ship and land-based adventures from pole to pole, and anywhere in between, to more than 250 destinations.

Guest Relations Emergency Handling team´s daily tasks include various product changes, schedule changes and irregular operations, communicating these to our guests and finding together with the guest the best solution so they could still fully experience World’s Most Beautiful Voyage and keep exploring the world’s most remote areas with us.
Katlin Daum (Guest Relations IROP Manager: “There’s never a dull moment in emergency handling and every day brings us new learnings, challenges and experiences. Our mission is to make sure our guests are taken the best care of, even in the most challenging situations.
When needed, we are also supporting the operations on site and that means we sometimes need to fly to different locations, which may be completely on the other side of the world. There’s no doubt that we have the coolest job and the team in the world.

Fulfillment team is administrating bookings prior to voyage, preparing and sending invoices, itineraries and other relevant travel documentation to our amazing guests. They are booking and issuing land transportation tickets, handling hotel manifests, updating customer profiles, service web bookings and supporting sales to improve overall customer experience.
Workforce Management team is providing real-time support to Sales teams, monitoring contact activities and performance, supporting operational workload, staff planning and forecasting activities for multichannel and multi-site operations.
Operations Support team is responsible for incoming queries and help requests from end users via Jira ticketing system. They take detailed notes of the problem the user is experiencing, determine steps they can take to resolve the issue, and manage the flow of incoming support requests.

Service Desk – WedoIT is the centralized internal IT service team and a single touchpoint for Hurtigruten employees. Hi! My name is Alliki and I work as a UK Travel Consultant at Hurtigruten Estonia. I came here because of the values this company has, and the amazing stories I have heard. I have not been disappointed. I am helping people achieve their dreams every day and it’s really a heart-warming job for me.

I have a strong connection with my team and I’m always excited to see new people joining us. I love the diversity we have here. Our employees have completely different backgrounds and it really enriches the working environment. I think that during my time at Hurtigruten Estonia, I have learned the most about different people, cultures and languages and I am grateful for that.

If I had to describe one typical workday at Hurtigruten, Estonia. I would say there isn’t one. We don’t have much of a routine and every day is different. One thing is for sure though, the most important part of my day is…coffee.

Our phone lines open at 11 am and the first few hours of the day are usually the busiest. By lunchtime, the team is usually in full swing and in the afternoon things start to quiet down, which also gives time to chat with colleagues. We have fun here a lot, too. For example, once I found out the hard way that it’s just not a good idea to put metal in the microwave. I put my coffee cup in there and… well, let’s just say that it didn’t go well.

Hi! I am Stanislav and I work at Hurtigruten Estonia as an Inventory Analyst. I’ve been working at this company for 13 years already. During these 13 years, I have grown, learned and seen a lot.

My name is Gerda and I started my career in Hurtigruten approximately 12 years ago. I decided to try something completely new in my life. Fresh out of high school, I didn’t know what to study, so I decided that I would go and work for a year or two until I figured out what I would like to be in the future. That plan turned out to be a years-long adventure with many experiences and opportunities.  Hurtigruten has set the foundation for my career and has given me many opportunities to grow in my role.

Hi! My name is Merle and I work as a Guest Relation Emergency Specialist at Hurtigruten Estonia. I’ve been working here for over 7 years already and still loving it. I have had a few different positions, but from the first day I came here, I felt that it was the best decision I’ve made.

What I most love about my work is the possibility to always look for solutions to our guests´ problems and make them happy. Every successfully solved issue brings a smile to my face. At Hurtigruten Estonia, every day is different and brings on new tasks and challenges. We regularly need to think outside of the box and find individual solutions for clients if needed.

We have to be flexible because you never know what may happen during the day and what kind of challenges may wait for us. This is exactly what motivates me and gives me energy. I am not the kind of person who wants to live a routine life.

Our team at Hurtigruten Estonia is like family. We help each other and we motivate each other. Sometimes our days can get long, but we work together closely and support each other always. We also have regular team events like hiking and camping, sauna etc. Check out how much fun we had in our annual Spring Gala

Pascale Emmisberger

Hi! My name is Pascale and I work at Hurtigruten Estonia as a Team Leader of the German team. I applied for the job when I was living in Switzerland. I had been working in Estonia before and during that time I fell in love with the country and promised myself I’d come back.

I’ve been working at Hurtigruten Estonia for around two years now. Every day here is unique and even after two years I still have so much to learn.  The product itself is really motivating for me. I love the moments when I talk with customers about trips to Antarctica or Svalbard and I can hear their joy through the phone, it’s just amazing. We are truly selling a dream. It’s been an interesting journey working here.  I believe it is a perfect job for someone who is social and loves to communicate, someone who feels comfortable working under pressure and can handle stress and someone who is both solution- and customer-oriented.

Our days can get busy and sometimes stressful too, but often they are also really funny. I always think that okay, now I’ve heard every single question there is, and then one of my teammates comes asking: “There is a guest, who just asked if they can buy diapers in Norway,” and I am completely flabbergasted … again.  😀
